About Me

My earliest experiences as an artist are rooted in historic Irvington, Indianapolis and visiting both the Indianapolis Museum of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago with my parents throughout my childhood. Earliest memories of creating are of trying to replicate the works I saw in person or by using art books.

During high school my major was in Fine Art's working mostly in pencil and watercolor. While in school I received a Scholastic Art & Writing Gold Key Finalist Award and Honorable Mention. During my senior year of high school, I also attended John Myron School of Art and Design, Indiana University of Indianapolis where I was accepted after graduation and attended for a brief time.

More recently my work has primarily been in acrylic, pen and ink, pencil, and mixed media.  In 2017 I participated in gallery shows hosted by Sergio Gomez of 33 Contemporary Gallery located in the Zhu B Art Center in Chicago, Illinois. I have also participated in community collaborations with my local Association of Realtors®, and with my mother, Rose Mary Clarke, to create illustrations for her first published book "Ramblings - A Stroll Down Memory Lane with Henry David Thoreau."

In addition to making visual art in my home studio, I share my love of creativity by teaching the Zentangle Method® to people from all walks of life, both artists and non-creatives. After studying on my own for six years I had the opportunity to study under founders, Maria Thomas, and Rick Roberts and have been a Certified Zentangle Teacher® (CZT) since 2020. I am passionate about the Zentangle Method® because it meshes with my own beliefs about creativity and “how to view and treat others around us and worldwide.” I believe that everyone has an innate ability to create something in some way. I look forward to working with you on your Zentangle journey.
